Chess Club

At Saints Simon & Jude Catholic School, our After School Chess Club offers students a fun and engaging way to develop critical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills. Open to students of all skill levels—from beginners to advanced players—the club provides a welcoming environment to learn and enjoy the game of chess.

Students meet weekly after school under the guidance of an SSJ teacher who teaches game rules, tactics, and strategies. Through friendly matches, mini-tournaments, and hands-on coaching, students gain confidence both on and off the chessboard.

The Chess Club not only encourages intellectual growth but also promotes patience, concentration, and good sportsmanship. It’s a great way for students to build community and challenge themselves in a supportive and fun setting.
